Indie rock sensation the Spinto Band have revealed that Ronnie O'Sullivan will be the inspiration behind their new album.
The American sextet are currently touring England with gigs around the country. Their highly acclaimed debut album Nice And Nicely Done was released earlier this year and new single Oh Mandy is due to be released on August 14.
In an interview with BBC online they described their success so far as feeling "Similar to how Ronnie O'Sullivan felt after his second 147 in the World Snooker Championship.
"We're about one fifteenth to being on our way to a 147. Ronnie is the inspiration behind our next album."
The band was formed in 1997 in Delaware and comprises Nick Krill (vocals/ guitar), Jon Eaton (guitar), Thomas Hughes (vocals, bass), Jeff Hobson (drums), Sam Hughes (keyboards) and Joe Hobson (guitars).
Their interest in snooker first developed during a previous tour of the UK which coincided with the Masters. Read their blog to find out how they were hooked by the sport.
At a gig in Manchester’s Bier Keller last January, Krill, who once stated in an interview that he "wants to be America’s representative in the World Snooker Championship", frequently asked fans for updates from the Masters semi-finals in between songs.
